Serbia decides to build its virtual self

by limbic on October 2, 2007

Viktor over at Belgrade 2.0 has picked up on the story briefly featured on Serbian TV last week about Serbia in Second Life.

Initially when I went in to look for it, I could not find it and had to ask a group of Serbs at the replica of Saint Sava’s Cathedral where it was. They gave me the co-ordinates and checked it out. Viktor reports it is coming up on searches now.

It was dominated by Telekom Serbia/MT:S adverts (their marketing people are so on it , it hurts) and basically empty. Some locals explained it was very much still a work in progress. I think it is an excellent idea and has great potential. I plan to buy a plot for the Belgrade Foreign Visitors Club if it is permitted at some time in the future.

Check out Viktor’s post for screen-shots and a closer look.
