Mega Man or Dr Mega - no one knows who is nuttier!
[NOTE: I am still not sure that this guy is not a very clever piece of lampooning by The Onion. His writing style, megalomania and dreadful prose are very similar to the insufferable Taki Theodoracopulos, but not even Taki would stoop to self-aggrandizement, breathless exaggeration and cringe-worthy purple prose that this guy puts out.]
It seems our favourite Serb hating shill and paid provocateur – Dr Mega – is back with yet another breathless rant about Serbs, this time reposting in full (and illegally) a Human Rights Watch report about harassment of Albanians in parts of Serbia immediately after Kosovo declared independence in February 2008.
We learn in an article entitled “Tyrannized Voivodina and Sanjak Ready to Secede from Dangerous, Racist State Serbia” that…

You might wonder at the horrors were inflicted on inflicted on Albanians to justify this description. Surely hundreds killed, beaten, ethnically cleansed?
Not quite. There were a grand total of 221 criminal incidents relating to Kosovo throughout Serbia (including those with no ethnic motivation). Of those that could be described as having an ethnic motivation, they..
Predominantly affect[ed] Albanian-owned businesses and homes, many involved criminal damage—the smashing of windows and attempted arson, the spraying of hate graffiti, intimidating protests in front of homes and businesses, and in one case an organized boycott of an Albanian-owned business and the distribution of inflammatory leaflets.
Admittedly this is disgusting behaviour, but not a single person was assaulted – no murders or beatings – and it was roundly condemned from the President of the Republic down to local authority and mayoral level.
Do the victims of this harassment agree with Dr Mega? Of course not. From the report….
Victims of attacks were often keen to point out to Human Rights Watch that attacks on their property by ultra-nationalists were not representative of the attitudes of the local population as a whole. According to Albanian business-owners, the majority of citizens continued to frequent their shops after Kosovo’s declaration of independence. Some independent Serbian journalists were proactive in investigating and condemning the violence. President Boris Tadic, Serbia’s Ombudsman, and the then-Director of the Serbian National Office of Human and Minority Rights, were robust in their condemnation.
…in many instances police officers deployed to protect minority-owned property once it had been attacked, providing a deterrent physical presence for several days.
Excruciating Tyranny? Merciless Murder? Unfathomable racism? Dr Mega is not describing the thriving pro-Western liberal democratic Serbia of 2008. So just what the hell IS he talking about?
Perhaps Dr Mega is confusing Kosovo and Serbia proper? Now that would make sense of his apparently insane exaggerations.
Perhaps he was describing what he found in the Human Rights Watch reports “Abuses against Serbs and Roma in the new Kosovo” and “Failure to Protect: Anti-Minority Violence in Kosovo“?
Those reports detail mass murder, rape, abductions (organ harvesting?) and massive ethnic cleaning of up to 200,000 Serbs and Roma from Kosovo. They reveal excruciating tyranny, merciless murder and unfathomable racism against Kosovo’s Serbs and other minorities at the hands of Kosovo Albanians. This MUST be what the old loon meant. Is that what you meant Dr Mega?
Who really cares? No one I suspect.
As I explained previously, Dr Mega is most likely paid to drum up outrage traffic to the “publication” he writes for. We should really be laughing at him, but people like him needs to be exposed because otherwise their lies pass into history.
