Mad Arab editor says Beirut is like Dresden

Abdel Bari Atwan, editor in chief of the London based al Quds newspaper, said on CNN Worldwide this morning that the Israeli attack on Beirut was like like the attack on Dresden at the end of WW2 (transcript not up at time of posting).

He is talking comments from the usual suspects, and misapplying them.

Mr Atwan’s comments are typical is the sort of hysterical exaggeration which is routine in the utterly biased Arab media.

In Dresden, up to 500,000 were burned to death in one night after Bomber Command dropped 700,000 incendiary bombs on the hospital city.

By comparison, the Israelis have accidentally killed less than 100 people in 5 days of war in Lebanon.

If Israel nukes Beirut, then Mr Atwan can talk in terms of Dresden like attacks.
