French pollsters warn of boost to Le Pen

by limbic on April 30, 2002

“A leading opinion pollster says Jean-Marie Le Pen’s share of the vote in the presidential election could reach 32%, swelled by disaffected conservatives, parts of the far left, and an unknown number of abstentions and spoiled ballots”.

Looks like the French pollsters joining the anti-Le Pen alliance. This is probably an attempt to frighten lazy voters into voting for Chirac and guaranteeing a landslide. Nothing kills protest votes like the prospect of victory for the beneficiaries of such votes.
