From Scabetti.co.uk:
“Inspired by the sight of dense shoals of fish, Dominic Bromley has designed Shoal. Continuing in his sculptural work with fine bone china, his latest design takes full advantage of the diverse qualities of this beautiful ceramic material. A mass of bone china fish, each 16cm(19′) long and carrying delicate sculpted detail, circle a central light creating a captivating cylindrical form. Each fish is lit not only by reflected light from its neighbours but also from within with the light passing through the delicate translucent china body.Shoal284 is just over a metre(40′) in height and 50cm(20′) in diameter but larger and smaller versions can be made to your bespoke dimensions or budget.
The award winning Shoal1672 was shown recently at the reknowned 100%Design exhibition in London. This light sculpture is over 2m(80′) in height, 1.5m(60′) in diameter and as the name implies, contains an incredible 1,672 fish.”
